Certified Professional Midwife

My Background
Personal Profile
My path to midwifery began shortly after the birth of my first baby in 2005. After a patiently supported pregnancy and labor with a Certified Professional Midwife, I felt a surprisingly powerful draw to the idea of becoming a midwife myself. I attended doula training, enrolled in midwifery school, and started attending births as a doula just a few months later in late 2005.
I had 2 more children in 2007 and 2010. These two pregnancies were also under the care of midwives - both Certified Nurse Midwives and Certified Professional Midwives, one planned in the hospital and the other planned at home.
I began the advanced portion of midwifery school in 2010 and then my midwifery apprenticeship in 2011, graduating in 2014. I've spent time attending births in a variety of roles in home, hospital and birth center settings. It is truly my life's work. It's hard to imagine doing anything else.
