My Background

Personal Profile

My path to midwifery began shortly after the birth of my first baby in 2005. After a patiently supported pregnancy and labor with a Certified Professional Midwife, I felt a surprisingly powerful draw to the idea of becoming a midwife myself. I attended doula training, began midwifery school, and started attending hospital births just a few months later in late 2005. I began attending home births as a student midwife in 2012. It is truly my life's work. I'd even go as far as to say it's my calling. It's hard to imagine doing anything else. It is my passion to provide families with attentive, patient and positive guidance throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.

I have since had 2 more children. These two pregnancies were also under the care of midwives - both Certified Nurse Midwives and Certified Professional Midwives, one planned in the hospital and the other planned at home. I have spent time attending births in home, hospital and birth center settings.

As a midwife, it is my passion to provide safe, respectful, evidenced-based care. I am so grateful for the opportunity to provide in-depth support and individualized midwifery care to pregnant people and their families here in Reno.
