Comprehensive Concierge Prenatal, Birth, Postpartum and Well Baby Care

Concierge Midwifery Care

Concierge midwifery care with Sage Springs is centered around your needs. Our visits are usually scheduled for a full hour. How much of that hour you utilize is up to you. During our time together, we monitor you and your baby's health and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Prenatal appointments take place in my office, with a 36 week home visit. Postpartum appointments take place both in your home and in my office. Partners and siblings are always welcome during your appointments. A midwife will always provide you care and monitoring at each of your appointments, not a midwifery assistant or student.

As your midwife, I act as your guide in educated decision making, but the choices are yours. We will thoroughly discuss your options including their risks and benefits. Informed consent is highly valued. Personal responsibility for your choices is a cornerstone of care.

Your Visits

At your prenatal visits, we assess your general health, palpate your belly for baby's position, measure for growth, and listen to baby's heart beat. We discuss any upcoming routine testing options available to you. As a Sage Springs client, you have access to the same ultrasounds and lab tests you would in obstetric care.

 

Standard postpartum/well baby visits for you and baby are usually scheduled in your home around days 1, 3, 7, and in my office at 2-3 weeks and 6 weeks. At these visits we continue to assess the health of both you and baby, as well as provide help with breastfeeding as needed. I also offer one home visit with an IBCLC should you need breastfeeding support beyond the basics. 

   Schedule of Care

  • ​Prenatal visits every 4 weeks 12-28 weeks

  • Prenatal visits every 2 weeks from 28-36 weeks

  • Prenatal visits weekly from 36 weeks until birth

  • Care during labor, birth, and immediate postpartum

  • Postpartum/well baby visits - about 5 visits in 6 weeks

At Your Birth

When you are in active labor, we come to your home. We monitor you and baby throughout your labor and birth. We work to facilitate a smooth experience for you and your baby, while watching for any signs that things may be moving away from 'normal and low risk' to make sure that home birth is still a safe option for your family.

Immediately after the birth, we continue to monitor you and baby's well being for a few hours. This care includes a complete newborn physical exam. We do all the clean up, including emptying the birth tub if you used one. We make sure you and your baby are happy and healthy before we head home.

All births are attended with a trained and experienced assistant. My current assistants are also Certified Professional Midwives.

SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT.

The Details

I am available 24 hours a day for

urgent/emergent issues via text or call.

​With Sage Springs, you will have access to:

  • All routine lab testing

  • Routine and urgent ultrasounds 

  • Birth pool (without a rental fee)

  • State Newborn Metabolic Screening

  • Critical Congenital Heart Defect Screening

  • Newborn Hearing Screen

  • Home visit with an IBCLC 

  • Placenta encapsulation 

We handle filing for baby's birth certificate and social security number.

When hiring Sage Springs Midwifery, you can rest assured that care is provided by a midwife,
not by a student/apprentice or midwifery assistant alone. 

If transfer to the hospital becomes necessary, you can expect respectful and collaborative care thanks to solid relationships based in mutual respect between Amanda and receiving providers.
